Still, like every innovator, the I-Opportunity faces its villains. Get to know your market first, avoid putting execution too soon on your innovation process. There might be a confusion coming up about what innovation is about and what improvement. Solopreneurs and first time entrepreneurs tend to weigh in all their experience. Create a strong focus once you as the innovator encountered and manifested your sweet spot.

However, there are villains out there, too.Those forget about the resilience check of the product or service, and rather focus on improvements, not the innovation. Businesses that watch out for the digital space to improve their existing product or service, hardly innovate. Incremental steps will slow down the attractiveness of the offering in new market. It will be hard to convince new consumer groups of an analogous improved offering. It will be even harder to gain visibility by those buyer personas and influencers. The risk to overhear market demand grows. Sticking to improvement cycles could slow down and prevent implementation. The team(s) show signs of frustration.

Create a strong voice, too - the more you cultivate your vision, the more the innovator will speak and an incredible vision will come true. On the other hand, this will also mean that more villains cross your moves. Furthermore on your moves, there might be the fear of not implementing with the proper speed, and losing sight. Enterprises with a high R&D spend might face political distraction and competing interests.

I-Opportunity Type Examples

Conquering an I-shaped offering is 'zero-compromise' meaning creating one offering from one original product. There is a 100% dependency between the product you already placed in the market and the future product-to-be. I-shaped offerings foster simplicity - as simple as that. It is the simplicity where the incredible, intuitive and insightful features ask to be disclosed in a unique and sharp manner. As sharp as it can be to convince the consumers from the offering.

A prime example of I-shaped offerings to us is ISRO. The Space Organizations from India has one clear mission. ISRO thrives a core product - exploring space. Herein, they seek to implement immersive technical elements even further and more strongly and herein we encounter the I-Opportunity type. From the core to the expansion enabled by an immersive, digital, and visual service.

I love everything around space and the space mission with the early developments of the ARIANE in Europe and the Space Shuttle by NASA kept me awake at night as a kid. I managed to watch the news on television. I read everything around space technology and aimed to study space technology.
